The Creative pathway consists of three set programmes:
• English Literature and Language
• Film Studies
• Art and Design
The study of English Language and Literature is an excellent choice for students who have enjoyed both areas of English at GCSE. You will study a novel, a biography, and a selection of plays.
The Film Studies programme involves the in-depth study of film, and allows for a deep understanding of it as an art form. Students will develop evaluation and critical thinking skills, and will be challenged as to the ways they think about a range of issues including representation of race or gender. The programme also includes a creative production element.
The Art programme encourages investigation, analysis and creativity. It offers opportunities to work across a range of mediums such as media, photography and installation art. You will be encouraged to develop as a high level thinker and creative interpreter. Underpinning your programme will be the development of vital drawing skills.
Entry requirements for our A Level programmes are a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 and above to include English and maths. Some courses may also have additional entry requirements. These will be discussed with you at your interview.
